The World Atlatl Art Album

This album is dedicated to depictions of the atlatl. Atlatls were symbolically important to many people, and are portrayed most commonly in rock art, but also on pottery, statues, figurines and elswhere. There are even a surprising number of depictions of atlatls in action in modern images of prehistoric people.

This album is intended as a resource for amusement and education. Please send contributions to John Whittaker (whittake@grinnell.edu). We prefer photos you took yourself, and will put your name on them, but other images are great too. If possible, give us info on the source of the image, cultural context, or whatever else makes it interesting.
